Brief Introduction of Chengdu Experimental Foreign Languages School West Campus

Chengdu Experimental Foreign Languages School West Campus, founded in 2002 and approved by Chengdu Education Bureau , is a comprehensive boarding school with distinctive characteristics of foreign language teaching and learning. Affiliated to Virscend Education Ltd., it is located in the core of the Tianfu New Area, Luxehill International Community, and enjoys the honor as starting along with the pace of the world.

The school advocates education run by education experts, performs the overall quality management, considering the harmonious development as the basis, quality education as the core, foreign language advantage as the characteristic, aimed at cultivating elites. As the window school of foreign languages, it is an integration of junior high school, senior high school and international division possessing the highest standard, the most advanced equipment and enjoying the reputation of the most beautiful campus. The school places emphasis on the exchange of the eastern and western cultures and encourages students to think creatively and behave properly with elegant taste; aim high and originate bravely with pursuit of excellence. The school covers more than 200 mu, including a construction area of 100,000 square meters, with 550 faculties and 99 classes (6 in primary school，51 in junior high, 42 in senior high) holding 4,500 students. All the teachers have bachelor’s degrees  among whom 18.6% have master’s degrees. The school has high-standard, modern education facilities and equipment, opening compulsory courses, school-based electives, extracurricular electives and minor language courses. It has science and technology building, lecture hall, art building consisting of piano rooms, orchestra rooms, dancing rooms, calligraphy and painting rooms. It has campus radio station, campus television station and multimedia IT system. It has gymnasium, sports ground equipped with 400-meter standard plexipaved tracks, basket courts, tennis courts, badminton courts, table tennis courts and other sports venues. It has students’ dormitories, each one shared by four students, with an independent bathroom and shower room, central air-conditioning, desks, wardrobes and other facilities. The school offers school-based electives such as tennis, chess, musical instruments and golf as well as school-based compulsory courses for the appreciation of famous works, national geography, sinology, history and culture, and appreciation of art and music masterpieces.

In the past years, the key rate of the High School Entrance Examination has been up to 80%, and the various assessment statistics rank first in Tianfu New Area. The enrollment rate of the key university has been up to 92.6%, and that of regular college course 99.6%. All the years, the college entrance examinations has ranked first in both arts and science departments of Tianfu New Area. In 2016, Huang Kezhao won the first place of Chengdu in science department with the score of 707, while Li Yun won the first place of Chengdu in arts department with the score of 649 in Gaokao. International education has risen to a new level as students scatter in famous universities of Britain, the United States, France and Germany, such as Diao Enmao at Harvard and Wang Junwei at MIT studying for their masters and Phd respectively. Quality education has attracted nation-wide attention, and the national academic competition winners are blooming and mushrooming.

 With a high score of 486.5, the school passed the assessment , held by Provincial Education Department on Sichuan first-class demonstration school in June, 2016.. In October, 2016, Chengdu Education Bureau announced the "School List of the High Quality Development Program of Chengdu General High Schools", and the school was awarded as one of the project schools in  "Pilotage High School Program".
